On April 13, hundreds of birds were frolicking and hunting for food on Mahongtai, an island in the center of Changhu Lake, Jingzhou, which was ushering in its bird bleeding season.

In recent years, the Changhu Ecological Management Bureau has gradually restored and improved the ecological system of Changhu Lake by taking a series of measures such as river and lake chief system, returning embankments to lakes, shoreline regulation, and prohibition of fishing, providing good habitats for birds. The species and number of birds have been increasing year by year. Since the beginning of this year, bird-watching experts have found 45,000 aquatic birds belonging to 21 species in Changhu Lake, a significant increase over the same period last year.
